the city's kind of gritty for an itty bitty pretty girl

Posts like these really get under my skin for a few reasons. I’ve been seeing them in the more reserved, religious sort of blogs I follow and they’ve just bothered me.
Maybe I’m a closeted feminist or something but the idea that I should utilize modesty for the allure of the opposite sex as opposed to promiscuous behavior or a way of dressing sends the wrong message. If I’m being modest, I’ll be modest for the sake of it and because I believe it’s the right thing to do, not because I’m challenging the standard tactic of attracting the opposite sex!
I saw another one of these posts like “You don’t have you show skin to find your prince charming, he likes his gifts wrapped” and that made me angry. A woman is not an object to be handed as a gift wrapped in wrapping paper. It’s true that if you’re modest in clothing you’ll probably attract a different sort of person but that shouldn’t be your sole reason for doing so. This further factors into the whole objectifying women.
Girls and women out there: your sole purpose is not to make yourself more appealing for guys. It’s not. So if you’re wearing shorts or a hijab, if you’re dawning a maxi with a shrug or a snug mini-dress: you do it for you. Not for an idea of standard you are trying to uphold, but for yourself: whether that be your beliefs on  dressing modestly or just wanting to look good.
Questions, comments, concerns?

How do I put this in the mind of every muslim in the world now? :/
